Google Drive

So, yesterday I received a MacBook Pro as a gift from my boyfriend, which is insane, but in a good way haha. Having not used a Mac since middle school, I had to view some tutorials on how to use them. I´m still in the process of moving all my files. Among my files, I have to move my programs over, or download them again, which is a pain. Google Drive in particular is taking quite a while!!

But alas, this is helping me remember what a great tool Google Drive can be for a student. It allows you to sync the documents, images, presentations
and other types of files you place in the drive with Google´s online storage service. This way, you can edit your documents from the internet, or through other computers and devices anywhere there is online connectivity available. There is even an option to allow someone else to help you edit documents simultaneously!!! Now that´s just crazy. I did that with a friend last year, and it was amazingly useful!

I really recommend anyone to try it out, be they teachers, students, business people, anyone!

This Week in Class

This week we followed up on an activity we learned to create on Power Point. We had previously learned how to create a Jeopardy game using the Hyperlink capabilities in Power Point. We revised some of the strategies while using a Power Point presentation, such as the blank slide, Teacher Talking Time, and Student Talking time, and also learned to make our presentations more dynamic by using Hyperlinks within our slides to link to Documents, Websites, and more. Another strategy worth mentioning were the using of multimedia, such as video and sound, and setting them to auto-play to make our presentations more appealing. I feel it has been a very productive last few weeks.
